VENTILATED FACADES
A ventilated facade is a construction method which creates a ventilated cavity between the outside of the façade and the interior wall of the building. This ventilated cavity lets the air in to keep the rain out. By adding a layer of external insulation prevents thermal bridges across the façade and stops heat loss in the winter and heat gain in the summer, resulting in energy savings of between 15-35%.
