Charred Timber -

The Japanese Shou Sugi Ban method of Charred Cladding has become very popular in the UK. The timber is burnt to give a unique effect and gives extra protection to your cladding.

During the treatment, Siberian Larch wood gets charred, cooled cleaned and oiled, this technique of scorching and burning cladding has been used for centuries by the Japanese.

The carbon layer not only enhances the durability of the timber, but also creates a beautiful black aesthetic. Our production process includes machining the larch cladding, heavy burning on 2 edges and one wide face, then brushing followed by the application of 2 coats of oil help protect the charred surface.
